Fair Food Presentation at MCC - WPB, 11/2/2014

Back from giving a Fair Food presentation to our wonderful Fair Food family and friends at the Metropolitan Community Church of the Palm Beaches - WPB, on Sunday, 2 Nov. What an exhilarating experience!!! To be welcomed by such a warm, inclusive, generous and hospitable people made us feel humbled and honored. Our Fair Food fam & friends at MCC - WPB, had definitely done their homework, been on a field/road trip to Immokalee recently, and been on a month long Social Justice learning "pilgrimage" of sorts, seeking more ways of bringing peace and justice into our world. Everything about their service was centered on and around peace, justice, making a positive difference, and how to make them part of present and meaningful work and aspirations in our daily lives, each according to our abilities and resources.

A 15 minute presentation followed by what should have been 5 min Q & A, turned out to be a bit longer due to the intense interest and involvement of our Fair Food fam & friends. Great questions! Again, thank you for inviting us and for your loving welcome, MCC - WPB!

The 2013 Labor Day rally and march at PUBLIX in Stuart, FL was a huge success by all accounts. CIW families and friends descended on the PUBLIX in Stuart, FL with full steam! Hosted overnight by our wonderful friends and TCFF members Ray and Ellyn Stevenson, who graciously opened their home to the CIW families for the night before the great march, we got off to a great start and were joined by over 60 people at last count. Much love and thanks to Ray and Ellyn!

Our gratitude also goes out to our wonderful friends and members of Temple Beit HaYam who so generously hosted CIW families and friends for a tasty, nutritious and Fair Food lunch! Yummy! Thanks Reb Jeff and congregation and a big shout out to Steve Rozansky!

What started out as a small but dedicated and committed group of 12 people who shared a strong conviction to work for fair wages, justice and human rights in a sustainable model of Fair Food at all levels of our food chain has now gained a following and readership across the nation. Thanks to all of our friends, followers and readers our action, advocacy and educational work at TCFF have gained national interest. Keep fighting the Fair fight, dear friends, for Fair Food for all! We can do it! Si se puede!

Wendy's Week of Action Rally in Port St. Lucie, FL

Posted by adm_tcfairfood on August 12, 2013 at 2:45 AM Comments comments (0)

Newsflash - Wendy’s Week of Action in Port St. Lucie, FL was a solid success! The Treasure Coast Fair Food group were real traffic stoppers in front of Wendy’s on Saturday morning, 10-Aug-2013! Our rally site was splendid and sunny and we couldn’t have picked a better “location, location, location”!

We had a wonderful teaching opportunity when the occupants of one car stopped and asked us what we were doing and what participating in the Fair Food Program is all about. We were only too happy to explain the 1 Penny More Per Pound concept. What an opportunity!

They also asked us the loaded question, “Why doesn’t Wendy’s participate in it too?” Good question. Wendy’s answers just don’t wash the stench of injustice and modern-day slavery off their hands.  Great job TCFF!  Keep up the good work!
