We are ramping up for the Wendy's Founders Day Wake Up Call and March on November 16, 2013 at 11:00. Wendy's we want you to join the Fair Food Program. Your excuses for not signing the FFP agreement just don't wash and are wearing thin! We invite everyone to bring their signs, water, signed Letter to Wendy's Manager, megaphone, etc. and join us for a day of fun and frolic and focus on Fair Food! The person with the best costume and sign will win a small token of our appreciation. Meet us at Wendy's in Stuart FL, US Hwy 1 and Kanner Hwy. Be FAIR and be there!

On November 14, two days, yes that's 2 days, before the Wendy's Wake Up Call and March, there will be an empowering educational opportunity that comes along only once in a blue moon over the Treasure Coast! The Martin County Sheriff's Department in partnership with St. Leo University are holding a day-long course in Human Trafficking: The Realities of Modern-Day Slavery. The primary focus of the course is to provide an understanding of the origins, methods of operation, and indicators of the trafficking of human beings creating big profit for the trafficker. Human Trafficking includes Forced Labor, Domestic Servitude, Adult Sex Trafficking and Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking. The course will acquaint attendees with the importance of a victim-centered approach to the investigation and rescue of victims and the importance of a collaborative approach with NGO – Service Providers. In the spirit of giving back to the community, St. Leo University is underwriting the course costs. Check our November Calendar page for more course and registration details.

We are excited about developing expansion plans for educational events at our local colleges in partnership with other groups and organizations which promote social responsibility, sustainability and Fair Food practices at all levels of our food chain industries.

We are also expanding our contacts to offer educational and advocacy opportunities within our Hispanic faith-based communities along the Treasure Coast. We have been busy bees as you can see! More to come later!

In peace and justice, your friends at - TCFF
